A new Leema Acoustics series of amplifiers and source electronics is launching soon, beginning with four integrated amplifiers, each featuring beautifully engineered casework in black or silver finishes and proudly manufactured in Wales.

Power & Control

The amplifiers remain faithful to Leema Acoustics’ core amplifier DNA, with a strong emphasis on dynamic control and ultra-low distortion. Oversized heatsinks ensure long-term reliability by keeping the output devices well within their safe operating area. An oversized toroidal transformer with dual secondary windings is supported by more than 27,200 μF of reservoir capacitance per channel. Both the i85 and i150 employ multiple pairs of 15 A Toshiba output transistors, providing generous current headroom and a low output impedance for a high damping factor.

Lower distortion & flexibility

The analogue preamplifier stage features four RCA inputs along with a high-performance MM phono stage derived from the award-winning Essentials Phono. For added flexibility, all amplifiers include preamplifier outputs, a stereo pair of subwoofer outputs, and a record output. A 12 V trigger is also provided for control of external Leema components. A high-quality remote control with assignable input shortcuts completes the package.

Digital accuracy

Another key area of Leema expertise is low-jitter digital-to-analogue conversion. Both D variants of the amplifier feature a high-performance DAC based on the ESS Sabre 9028Q2M, with inputs comprising two coaxial, two optical and one USB connection. A class-leading XMOS XU208 USB receiver is also employed, enabling data conversion at up to 32-bit/384 kHz.
