Campfire Audio, the Portland-based maker of premium audio gear, proudly announces its latest innovation in earphone design: Grand Luna. Continuing Campfire’s highly regarded line of planar magnetic IEMs, this all-new model is the company’s first planar-balanced armature hybrid. It combines a customized, new iteration of the popular 14mm planar magnetic driver with two custom, precision-tuned balanced armatures to deliver a listening experience that is effortlessly smooth, richly detailed, and deeply immersive.
The earphone’s striking aesthetics match its acoustic innovation. Each unit is housed in a vibrant, internally dyed red, externally transparent, 3D-printed shell. Each Grand Luna features a stainless-steel lid individually hand-finished in-house at Campfire’s Portland workshop. First flame treated and then brushed by hand, leaving a colorful, organic CA logo and a striking textured stainless-steel finish. This process ensures each earphone is uniquely its own -a tactile expression of craftsmanship and care.

Known for their unique combination of speed and power, Grand Luna’s 14mm planar driver delivers low and mid frequencies that are satisfying, deep-reaching, and powerful, while maintaining a clean, resolving presentation, while two custom, high-performance, balanced armatures handle high-frequencies with deft precision and brilliance. Grand Luna presents a unique and exciting capability in its unprecedented high-frequency extension, reaching immense heights of 30 kHz, while remaining smooth, non-fatiguing, and eliminating any harshness or sibilance through experienced acoustic engineering.
Another first seen in Grand Luna is the debut of Campfire’s brand-new modular cable system. Included in the box are three interchangeable terminations: 3.5mm single-ended, 4.4mm balanced, and a USB-C DAC module powered by the highly regarded Cirrus Logic Master HiFi CS43131 chip. This versatile system ensures optimal performance whether plugged into a high-end portable player, balanced amplifier, or directly into your smartphone or computer.
