McIntosh and Sonus faber 'CI-fi' Ranges Come to the UK and Ireland

McIntosh and Sonus faber sound quality for home installations as FSUK adds ‘CI-fi’ ranges to portfolio

McIntosh and Sonus faber sound quality is no longer the preserve of two-channel, as FSUK expands with CI ranges

28th April 2021, Glenrothes, Scotland: Fine Sounds UK, the country’s McIntosh and Sonus faber distributor, has expanded its music and movie portfolio to bring the benefits of McIntosh and Sonus faber sound quality to a new group of home entertainment fans.

FSUK is now offering music lovers a comprehensive range of hi-fi-quality installation products, including McIntosh electronics and Sonus faber loudspeakers, which will be available through a carefully selected, expanding retailer base.

In addition to the growing portfolio, Fine Sounds UK has joined CEDIA as a trade supplier member, bringing McIntosh and Sonus faber’s high-performance CI offerings to the organisation’s integrator members (and their customers), for the first time.

Crucially, McIntosh and Sonus faber sound and build quality is no longer the preserve of traditional two-channel music systems, with the two companies (both part of the McIntosh Group) providing synergistic electronics and loudspeaker systems for a range of home installation projects. The convergence, where hi-fi quality meets installation convenience, enables the ‘Voice of Sonus faber’ and McIntosh’s legendary sound quality to be enjoyed in several areas of the home, not just where the hi-fi system is located. Fine Sounds UK’s Sales Director, Andy Oattes, has even coined a phrase for the converging categories: ‘CI-fi’ (pron. ‘see-eye-fi’).

The ‘CI-fi’ portfolio will include Sonus faber’s Italian-made range of high-quality in-wall and in-ceiling CI loudspeakers, the Palladio Collection, plus McIntosh Laboratory’s comprehensive range of install-friendly equipment, including the recently announced MX100 A/V processor and MI347 seven-channel power amplifier.

The two brands’ performance-tier CI-fi music and movie offerings, including the McIntosh MX170 A/V processor, McIntosh’s extensive range of award-winning amplifiers, plus Sonus faber’s Palladio Level 6 in-wall/-ceiling speakers, which draw from the seven-strong Olympica Nova collection, will be a demonstration focus for some of Fine Sounds UK’s newest cinema design and integrator partners.

Recently added integrators include: Cyber Homes (Oxfordshire); Link Media Systems (London); Formwave (Dublin); Sensory Integrated (Macclesfield); Guy Singleton’s (founder of TCD) Imagine This and Newland Solutions (Hampshire), among many other top-tier integrators in the UK and Ireland.

Commenting on Fine Sounds UK’s expansion into the CEDIA network of designers and integrators, Andy Oattes said, “McIntosh and Sonus faber are both incredible companies with a huge range of solutions for integrators to choose for a wide array of projects across music and movies. The common denominator is world-class quality and scintillating performance. Both companies are utterly dedicated to engineering the very best products to captivate consumers. Therefore, working with the very best integrators and cinema designers in the UK and Ireland is vital for the best experience to be heard and seen.

“Working with CEDIA and the cream of the integration community is key for us to retain the highest quality end-result for the customer as possible and I look forward to the exciting times ahead!”

Matt Nimmons, Managing Director of CEDIA EMEA said, “We are delighted to welcome Fine Sounds UK to the CEDIA community and look forward to providing the necessary resources and platforms for them to engage with our network of home technology integrators.”
