Cyrus Audio Announce the New 80 Series

The Cyrus evolution continues: Say hello to the 80 series…

When Cyrus launched the 40 series in October 2024 and announced it as a 'new beginning', it would be easy to see that as just another line from the marketing team that doesn’t mean anything. Well, we are happy to say that it wasn’t just a line, because today we reveal the evolution of that new beginning: say hello to the 80 series from Cyrus Audio.

The 80 series delivers, for the first time, a range of ‘full width’ products from Cyrus and represents a bold next step for the British audio brand, which has confidently been attached to the half-width form for over 40 years. Do not panic - this is not a direction change for Cyrus, but rather a smart and logical expansion of the brand, says Head of Marketing Chris Hutcheson.

“We have been and always will be renowned for our half-width product design, but the demands of the consumer are varied, and we recognise that there are some customers who prefer the full-width look and feel. The 40 series was created to reset the Cyrus brand; the 80 series is here to expand our appeal to music fans who have not considered us before purely because of the form factor of our products.”

Those expecting to see a full range of separates are in for a surprise, however, as you can quickly see the similarities with the 40 series, and that is very much an intentional move from Cyrus. In fact, the design of the 80 series is an extension of the 40 series casework to allow the seamless integration of both 80 and 40 series products in your home audio system.

The additional space provided in the full-width form factor has given the engineering team at Cyrus a much larger playground for them to really flex their design skills. One key area that will benefit will be the power supply, allowing all the performance benefits previously applied by adding an external PSU to the product to be included in the product.

The 80 series is expected to be launched in November 2025 and will consist of 3 products:

The 80 AMP is a 150W per channel, class A/B streaming integrated amplifier, with the fantastic BluOS streaming platform at its core. The 80 PRE preamplifier also has the BluOS streaming platform built in, and will blend perfectly with the 80 PWR, a 200W per channel class A/B power amplifier, which provides the option to switch to mono and 300W of bridgeable power. At the time of going to press, we were advised that the prices for the individual 80 series products would range from £5,000-£6,000, which is moving the Cyrus brand into competition with brands such as Naim, Hegel and Linn.

As you can see from some of the early images, the addition of products such as the 40 CD and 40 PPA can easily be added to either of the 80 AMP or 80 PRE to create your system, your way! Cyrus will highlight the 80 series (display only) at the Munich High End Show via its distribution partner TAD-Audiovertrieb in Motorworld, Rolling Test Stand 1 & 2, and continue to share developments via Cyrus Audio's social channels.

Nick Clarke, MD of Cyrus Audio, said, “It’s been a huge honour to play a part in the rich 40-plus year history of this iconic UK brand. The reaction to the 40 series has been fantastic to see, and I am very proud to present these 80 series products as the next logical evolution of the brand, as we show that, as a fresh new team, we are flexible and responsive to the needs of our customers.  Also, this latest “expansion” is far from the end - trust me, there’s still more to come!”.
