Ramar Vinyl Brush and Accessories Review

I have listened to vinyl on and off for most of my life and from very young remember my fathers old all in one record player spinning 7” discs with the inner puck that was required to get them playing, times have moved on and vinyl has certainly made a huge resurgence in popularity with more and more people getting back into listening to this format and for good reason the sound reproduction qualities are excellent and some people say your not a true audiophile unless you listen to vinyl, well I wouldn’t go quite that far but it is certainly a timeless format that deserves the appreciation.

A problem that has plagued vinyl since it’s conception is dust and for the stylus too, there are many solutions to cleaning and many different types of cleaners and brushes but none quite like the beautifully hand built Ramar brush, with a mixture of carbon fibres and goats hair these brushes feel as good a they look and to the touch, built from a solid piece of wood either Birch, Cherry or Ash they all have names and the one I have is Joni, inside the magnetic case is also the stylus cleaner attached magnetically to the metal casing inside. It’s the small details that really make these type of products unique and stand out from the rest.

Inside each brush it has the signature and serial number etched on to the metal casework which is where the stylus cleaner is located, I also received a soft cleaning mitt which is perfect for cleaning your electronics and speakers which are also dust magnets. My place suffers from exceess dust due to living in a first floor flat and being quite high up dust seems to gather more than usual and these accessories have been a blessing as the unique properties cleans the surfaces perfectly.

I have a number of different brands of brushes for cleaning my vinyl but for cleaning the Ramar brush really is very well designed ergonomically and seems to be perfectly weighted, even down to the exact amount of carbon and goat hair bristles on the Joni brush which also help dissipate electrostatic charge in their arrangement they seem to clear the dust and particles away in one go reaching deep into the records grooves.

The six rows of bristles makes cleaning an easy task and for once I have confidence that my records can play without the build up of dust getting in the way of my listening pleasure. It’s clear that a lot of effort has gone into the research and design of the Ramar brushes as they don’t just look good but are built for and by audiophiles who knows exactly what is needed to do the job and with the attention to the finer details makes this an exceptional choice when looking after vinyl.

Conclusions and final thoughts

Ramar has managed to create a beautiful solution to an age old problem for us audiophiles with these high end and very well designed brushes, the Ramar brushes are products that do a job and they do it extremely well and will keep your record collection in pristine condition for many years to come. Highly recommended!!
